Background and Philosophy
At first glance, marketing IT products and financial planning may seem poles apart. Yet it was while engaged as a successful sales director for a major London-based IT company that Chris Wren discovered the similarity between the two activities and realised that Personal Financial Planning was the direction he wanted to his life’s work to take.
Says Wren: "For a long time, I had been realizing that whilst I enjoyed the challenge of working with finances for a large corporate company, what I was doing didn't really help ordinary people. I therefore wanted to take what I had learnt and make a difference in individual people’s lives.
“My sole purpose is to help clients achieve their financial and lifestyle objectives. To get them from where they are today to where they want to be. As safely ... securely ...and as economically as possible” says Chris.
To fulfill these obligations, he takes all the time necessary to fully understand the financial position of every individual who comes to Highland Financial. Their goals, their priorities, what’s important to them. Now, and in the years ahead.
“Above all, financial planning is about trust” says Chris. The duty to professionally manage, not only a person’s life savings, but their future prosperity and well-being is a responsibility not taken lightly.”
Another essential element of his approach is to provide only what is in his clients’ best interests. To avoid commissions and other hidden charges, all new clients are offered a ‘fee for service’ approach. This ensures complete transparency and a focus on the value of the advice as opposed to the traditional product focus.
